BUGS General Information

The BUGS Mission
BUGS Mission Statement
Promote collaboration, professional development, and social networking activities of a unified amalgamation* of graduate students in Biosciences and Bioengineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University.
Who are BUGS?
Bioengineering and Biosciences Unified Graduate Students
Basically we are any and all graduate students in any type of biotechnology, bioscience, or bioenineering research at Georgia Tech and Emory University. This includes students in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, medicine, and some students in traditional engineering degree programs that do research in a bio-based lab or building (IBB, ES&T, Whitaker, Cherry Emerson, or Woodruff). We target the bio-related fields, but we want everyone to feel included -- if you want to join us, please do.
What do BUGS do?
We have several committees that integrate traditional graduate education with elements of life beyond graduate school including industry, education (K-12 and higher), clinical medicine, networking, and political/public policy. As the world gets smaller, we need to be aware of all elements of society and how we can impact our feild on a wider, more global basis.
