K-12 Outreach Programs
Provides resources for K-12 educators and encourages graduate students to learn about education from the educator's standpoint.

  • Campbell High School outreach project: Gradute students work with teams of High School students on year-long science projects
  • Prostetic Pete: A demonstration which encourages discussion on current medical technologies and design criteria for new medical devices
  • Buzz on Biotechnology is an open house for high school students, teachers and parents innovative biotechnology research, lab tours, and hands on demonstrations of bioscience and bioengineering concepts.
  • Elementary School Science Fair Judging
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program
An NSF-funded program in which students from around the U.S. spend 10 weeks at Georgia Tech & Emory University laboratories. Undergraduate participants are matched with graduate student mentors who provides training and guidance.
Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS) Program
This competitive program for rising juniors at Atlanta area colleges allows undergraduate students to participate in research in laboratories at Georgia Tech & Emory University for a full year. Undergraduates are active participants in the research group, and work on projects proposed by graduate student mentors and approved by faculty advisors.
