If interested in attending these, please contact us and we can direct you to the schedule and may be able to arrange a group transportaiton option. |
| Research Technique Workshop 26-27 June 2007 Watch for the return of the Technique workshop in a new and improved INTERACTIVE format. This will feature senior students giving short presentations and HANDS-ON demonstrations. Bring your own samples and learn how to do exciting new techniques here at GT and Emory. |
| Joint Events & Advertizing with Emory itm Emory itm (innovative technologies for medicine) was started in August 2003 in order to increase awareness of unique, innovative developments in medical technology and therapies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA as well as in neighboring schools such as Georgia Tech. The medical student-based organization consists of an executive board, a central programming board, and over 100 supporting members. itm is one of the medical school’s largest groups. |

with thrombosis
12:30-1:30pm, IBB 1128 Dr. Robert Taylor will address current issues releated to using stents and the problems rresulting in thrombosis. |
| 31 October 2006: Tendon Transfer Seminar 4pm, IBB 1128 Allan Peljovich, MD, MPH, is a Board Eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and will be presenting a seminar on Tendon Transfer Surgery. This type of hand surgery is performed in order to improve lost hand function by shifting a functioning tendon from its original attachment to a new one to restore the action that has been lost. In particular, Dr. Peljovich will introduce the current problems with tendon transfers, what the technique involves and the current decision making process involved. Additionally he will introduce the reconstructive techniques with an emphasis on the biomechanics of the process. |
